This Vietnam era war story follows Captain Willard, who has been assigned to find and "terminate with extreme prejudice" the renegade and psychotic Colonel Kurtz, who is played by Marlon Brando.

 

Sheen suffered a near-fatal heart attack during the prolonged film shoot in in the Philippines. However, he recovered to complete the movie, and this has become one of his most recognized and acclaimed performances.
