Martin Sheen

The real White House will meet the fictional west wing on a future episode. Extra has learned that former Presidents Ford, Carter and Clinton will be featured on the Emmy winning show.

Meanwhile TV's leader of the free world, Martin Sheen, was acting like a real life politician, shaking hands, posing for pictures, and basking in applause during a political speech.

But this isn't the set of "The West Wing." It's Sheen being honored by the Cesar Chavez Foundation for his tireless charitable work and political activism. Martin says, "It keeps me alive and it keeps me young and it keeps me honest."

Sheen himself is Hispanic, his real name is Ramon Estevez, and he knew Chavez personally. Martin says the man who organized the United Farm Workers would have been a big fan of "The West Wing." Martin says, "He would have loved it. We would have had him on. He would have been my Secretary of Labor."

Edward James Olmos was on hand to pay tribute to Sheen, but he has his own accomplishment to be proud of. He's starring in the PBS series "American Family," the first Latino drama on TV.

Olmos says just like Chavez and Sheen, all of us can make a difference. He says, "We can do what Marty can do and I think we should be right alongside of him doing the same thing."
