Sheen stars as the patriarch of a powerful Southern family in this CBS television mini-series about life and racial divisions in America.  Jackson's son falls in love with a slave girl and together they have a light-skinned daughter named Queen.   As Queen (Halle Berry) grows up, she faces the struggle of trying to fit into the troubled world around her.
